Various Stuff

Well, we missed prayer group this week due to church being canceled. We will be back on schedule for next Sunday evening. Please continue to be in prayer about the upcoming trip. I will try to get an update from the team sometime this week. Hopefully, there will be more details to share.

Also, on the political front, please be in prayer for the situation involving Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador. The news out of South America today is that Colombia and Venezuela are restoring their diplomatic relations, which is good. That should help to stabilize the region. But we should still be praying for the political situation in that part of South America. Any destabilization in the region could have adverse effects for the work of the gospel. Pray that God would sustain peace and continue to open doors for the gospel.

Hope you all have a good week. Lord willing, we will see you next Sunday.

ReapSouth

If you haven't checked out the ReapSouth website, you should! It is a great way to get to know what the work is like in Peru. It is also a great way to "meet" some of the people who are currently down in Peru. The members of the ReapSouth Team are working in a variety of ministries all over Peru. Some team members even have blogs you can check out. Even though these team members are not working in our area per se, the information is beneficial nonetheless!

Trip Updates and Other Stuff

The team for the April trip is complete, with 11 people having signed up to go. It looks to be a good team! Already, we have seen God answer prayer in prompting this many people to go. We trust that God will do great things on the trip in April. We will be posting some ways to pray for the trip and the team in the coming days.

Also, we are still meeting at church on Sunday evenings at 5:30 to pray for the work in Peru. Please join us if you can. We would love to see more people from the congregation praying for Ancahuasi.

For this week, please be in pray for the team as they try to settle on what the agenda for this next trip will be. Specifically, be praying for Dr. Sills as tries to build a schedule that takes advantage of the skills God has provided to each team member. Pray that God would grant him wisdom.

We hope to see you on Sunday night.

April Trip Updates

As you all know, the Ninth and O Peru trip for the spring is scheduled for April 5-13. I wanted to post some of the deadlines so people considering the trip could be better informed. I think four people have already signed up to go. Hopefully, there will be many more to come!

-February 10th: application deadline
-February 27th: $800 due (for airline tickets)
-April 4th: Remaining $700 due

The total cost for the trip is about $1500. Philip and Dr. Sills have information on raising support, so ask them if you are unsure about the process.

Hope this info helps! And I hope many more of you will be able to go!

Prayer Topic for Sunday January 20th

If you heard Dr. Sills preach on Sunday night, then you already know that Walter is now engaged. We are excited for him, and we plan on praying for him as he prepares to marry. So, join us this Sunday night at 5:30 as we continue to pray for Walter. We hope and trust that God is shaping Walter and preparing him for significant ministry among his people in Peru.

See you on Sunday night.

We're Back

After an extended hiatus for the holidays, Peru Prayer is back to its regularly scheduled time. Thanks to all of you who continued to meet off and on over the holidays.

The next Peru trip is April 5-13. The deadline for signing up is February 10. That is only one month from today! If you are interested in going, please get an application, fill it out, and return it to Philip at church. Also, if you are interested in going but do not have a passport, you should probably get that application in as soon as possible.

This Sunday we will be meeting for prayer at 5:30. We will pray for several aspects of the next trip. I hope the rest of your week is blessed. See you on Sunday!

A Must Have Prayer Resource

As many of you already know, Operation World is a must-have missions resource. The book contains prayer guides for individual countries and is set up to be used on a daily basis. Through the course of a year, you can pray for all the countries of the world by following Operation World's format. It is a great tool to help you and your family pray for the nations. If you don't already have a copy, you really need to get one!! It is available at the Operation World website or from Amazon Books.

We hope to see you on Sunday night!
